Did you know?

The Platypus is stranger than you think.

Platypuses have no nipples.  After the young hatch, the mother oozes milk from the pores all over her body.

The male platypus has a poison barb on the inside of its hind legs.  The purpose of this weapon is uncertain.

While often compared to the beaver, the platypus is only about 20 inches in length -- more comparable to the size of the muskrat.

The Platypus bill is actually just an elongated muzzle covered with much the same kind of tough skin found on a dog's nose.  This bill contains an electrically-sensitive organ that can detect the electrical signatures of the small aquatic animals it eats.

ORANGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2005--Aviation Technologies International (ATI) is pleased to announce the development of a high-performance, pressurized, cabin-class, 6/7-seat executive piston-twin aircraft. This next-generation executive aircraft (code named RT-700) sets a new standard in performance, luxury, safety, quiet and comfortable cabin environment.

Highlights of RT-700: The next-generation piston-twin.

  1.  High cruise speed and large cabin size in its class.
  2.  Low hourly operating costs in its class.
  3. Luxury amenities such as in-cabin baggage access (front and rear), refreshment and entertainment center, and a belted toilet. These luxury amenities are generally available only in multi-million-dollar high-end turbo-props and jets.
  4. Whisper-quiet, pressurized, air-conditioned cabin.
  5. Advanced technology, integrated flat-panel avionics.
  6. Single-level Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) controlled, liquid-cooled engines.
  7. Executive club seating with folding tables and room to stretch out.
  8. Built-in, wide air-stairs for ease of entry and exit.

RT-700 incorporates several advances in aerodynamics, advanced materials, engine technology and avionics. Its aerodynamic configuration contributes to substantial reduction in weight and drag, resulting in superior performance. Constructed from advanced technology, lightweight and strong materials, RT-700's airframe is expected to have fewer parts contributing to further reduction in weight and manufacturing costs. An added benefit is a large cabin and an uninterrupted flat floor that extends throughout the entire length of the cabin. The engines are liquid-cooled, single-lever FADEC-controlled, providing greater flexibility in operation, improved economy, and reduced pilot workload. The latest in flat-panel, integrated avionics suite provides unprecedented situation awareness and reduced pilot workload that is previously unheard of in this class of aircraft.

While the primary role of RT-700 is executive transport, it is also designed to be versatile in other roles such as air-taxi operations, fractional operations, light cargo, air surveillance, air ambulance, and as an advanced twin-engine trainer.
