Did you know?

The Platypus is stranger than you think.

Platypuses have no nipples.  After the young hatch, the mother oozes milk from the pores all over her body.

The male platypus has a poison barb on the inside of its hind legs.  The purpose of this weapon is uncertain.

While often compared to the beaver, the platypus is only about 20 inches in length -- more comparable to the size of the muskrat.

The Platypus bill is actually just an elongated muzzle covered with much the same kind of tough skin found on a dog's nose.  This bill contains an electrically-sensitive organ that can detect the electrical signatures of the small aquatic animals it eats.

For those playing 4x strategy games, this is one for you : Galactic Civilizations.
It’s so good that I have to advertise it!!
Strong points are:
•        Very good AI !! And it doesn’t cheat, it just kick your ass!
•        Interface easy to use and intuitive.
•        Different victory conditions for different strategies
•        A sort of roleplaying between Good and Evil
And of course all the things that make a 4x game.

It reminds me a lot of SMAC in its presentation.

Cons would be:
•        No ship design
•        No tactical combat ( but a combat ‘a la civ’)
•        No choice of civilization (but a lot of customization)
•        No multiplayer

To make your own opinion and know about the game, the developperand the philosophy behind:
•        www.galciv.com    , the official website where you can buy (and download!) the game.
•        apolyton.net/galciv/  , at Apolyton, there are links to all reviews, screenshots, etc..

Good game!

The popular stereotype of the researcher is that of a skeptic and a pessimist. Nothing could be further from the truth! Scientists must be optimists at heart, in order to block out the incessant chorus of those who say "It cannot be done."
