Tome for the next chapter....Chapter 4

Hi everybody!


                       Just back from 10 days of camping and astronomy, and am starting to catch up on events which occurred in my absence.  Will probably post a bit tonight, but not much before - I have much unpacking and equipment cleaning to do, and have to visit the registrar's office at school.  Also have to get an estimate for repairs to my travel trailer - I got a tad too adventurous seeking dark skies and wound up in argument with an overhanging tree limb .  Minor damage to the trailer, big hit to my precision driver's ego!

  I'm sorry to see PLC is still gone.  Will look in again in a few hours, after taking care of sundry chores.

Captain, commander, someone, has anyone seen nerd57_laughing lately?

That's a very funny pseusdo-name for me, Nemesis. I'm still trying to sell your u-subs, but I've yet to hit the motherlode.

Also, the Draconis has been fitted with anti-bozo shielding, so I can expand my trading horizons. I've also added more cargo capacity to my ship, but in doing so I've had to get rid of the weapons systems. I'm hoping that the anti-bozo shield will be enough to see me through the most of the attacks. If I do run into trouble can I count on fighter support from the WAN? If not, that's allright, I'll seek escort elsewhere.

Anyway... nope there is no anyway, everything else is nominal.

Ok Capt. Skyjim, I've been away, not sure what's going on, or where the old capt is.  I read all the past posts and am severly confused, maybe due to all the radiation, need to get my lead apron on and goggles!!! Please fill me in on what I'm to do now!!! Await your command!!

I think our current status is sitting around, waiting for a "go ahead" command from our captain that seems to be having troubles with his com. system.  The ISS BozoBlaster is standing by outside a nebula cloud wait for orders and I believe the rest of the crew are at ready and waiting.  So, you have not missed much.

I suggest trying "vindaloo haggis" as a new torpedo, the only difference is that it has added x-tra hot curry and onion with a dash more red pepper, chilli ,plus a few x-tra ingredients.
These torpedos can blow a hole in two inch thick high density armour plate like a hot knife through butter!
The only problem is when they detonate the ship would have to be a minimum of 8 light years away to avoid the blast shockwave!

OK, Skyjim is finally back online.  Sorry for the extended absence.  Haven't yet caught up on postings - literally just got back online!  I saw that PLC has posted, though, and I hope she'll be back in the fully active category soon.

  Had a massive plumbing disaster which resulted in partial collapse of the ceiling drywall in our house.  Damage in the attic during emergency repairs included cable runs completely FUBAR and with 100 degree weather and holidays, it has been difficult getting a crew to fix the pipes and myself up in the attic to diagnose the cable problems.   Just down from the stifling, 120 degree attic having finally located the last bad section of cable.  I HAVE A SIGNAL AT LAST!!!!

  I'm going to Pete's for a cold one.

WAN III is on station at origin of last transmission from Admiral PLC.  We are utilizing special prototype bozonic shielding generators capable of overcoming the debilitating effects of the high B/F in this quadrant.   Vessels not equipped with these shield generators - all other vessels of the WAN fleet - are in immediate peril in this sector and are advised to withdraw to a distance of at least 1 kiloparsec from our position.  I believe this was also the intention of Admiral PLC.  We hope to find out first hand.

  Debris cloud containing stasis pods has been sighted and recovery operations are proceeding.  We will update other fleet units as soon as possible, but may need to delay further transmissions until clear of this quadrant.  Brute force transmission methods are required to punch a signal through the B/F and we may need all of our power for the shields.

If you are in communication with the WAN III, have her good captain bring her alongside the Razerteeth and the StarHawk. I had her outfitted with a prototype shielding that should be handling this heavy radiation flux fine. When the WAN III is alongside, have Captain SkyJim extend the shields to surround all three ships.

It's going to be tricky, getting out of here. We will have to battle our way through, with the WAN towing the two damaged ships. Maybe the Nietzchean Guard can distract enough bozos to lighten the load on the WAN III. We will need all the help we can get.

WAN III Captain's Log


Admiral under tow by Labatt after successful tractor beam engagement.   We have succeeded in extending our bozonic shield envelope to protect other vessels in the quadrant.   Unable to transmit due to shield power requirements.  

 Attempting to extend protection to position of last transmission from Aaronofborg.  The imperative of shadowing the tractor-linked Razorteeth/Starhawk combination will complicate this effort.

  Other vessels may or may not realize that we are deflecting the bulk of the B/F and thus providing protection.  The hailing system cannot penetrate the shield interference and main transmitter cannot be powered up until B/F drops significantly.  Tractor operation from WAN III faces similar constraints.  

  We will continue in the unseen escort role until able to contact our sister vessels.

  We are approximately 8 standard hours from establishing hailing frequency contact with Starhawk if B/F fallof predictions are accurate.

To be doing alright.  The tractor beam is loosing power, but I have rerouted all emergency not critical systems to your ships life support, my tractor beam and your basic engineering.  I do not know how long we will last like this.  Nemisis is on his way and Arronofborg is just about here so we will be alright.

*As communications fizzle out, AOB barely manages to hear the recording continue its countdown. Sensors show the other ships have made it through the transwarp conduit. Just then, the power grid gives way. AOB has no choice but to shut down the conduit or risk explosion. As the conduit closes, the Borg crew begin to repair the heavily damaged vessel. However, the ship is beyond repair. Crippled and dead in space, AOB continues the countdown mentally. Since the viewscreens are dead, AOB moves to a viewport on the side of the ship from which the explosion will come. As the countdown reaches zero, AOB can only think of the crew that he helped save. Hailing WAN command...What is going on!...We interpreted the latest transmission from the Admiral as a call to cease hostilities.I have just been informed that the nemesis entity is about to attack the ARES battle group which now surrounds the renegade vessels!He has moved additional craft into the sector,making my commanders hungry for battle!We will wait for him to attack first.This is clearly not in our nature,but will finally prove just where his allegiance lies;with himself!!...

Nemesis2's allegiances are clearly with the WAN fleets. Why else would he so valiantly protect the ship with his very life! With his money and put himself in the direct line of fire?

Laugi is currently trying to figure out what the heck Termina is actually capable of, but that could take time. I'd choose not to risk it and leave the Lasershot, and nemesis, alone until we are sure that she is unable to destroy universes.

Admiral(snappy salute, bowing), welcome back, Nemisis  extends his deepest apologies for not being here at the present but he has an important class 27 message for you(begans playing):

Admiral, this is a recorded message stating the traitours actions inflicted by Clifdweller.
It all started when the WANII was in the middle of a crucial battle with bozos, it was apperant that the WANII had been abandoned and it's shields were at the point of failure. I took command, along with Labatt, of the WANII and defended the WANII, then i surrendered the ship to Orstio space were i was awarded command of the WANII and captainship of a spy ship known as the ISS Lasershot aka the WANIV by Dingo15068 and i accepted.
For no apperent reason Clifdweller did not like this and began openly attacking, verbaly, the Lasershot.
Then he attacked, i will accept any repremands by you for taking over the WANII but i did so to uphold logic in the SDC sector, Clifdweller unprovokenly attacked my ship, he should be courtmarshalled for this.
I have gathered these charges against him:
Unprovoked attack on a WAN vessel, six counts of Unprovoked attacks on a WAN captain and crew, Attempted overthrow of an elected WAN captain, unauthorized use of WAN property, attempting to decloack the WANIV while attacking, he has a post doing so, High treason against a WAN captain.

Charges against Nemisis:
Unauthorized seizure of a WAN vessel, Unauthorized use of WAN ammo/property, Engaging bozos while claiming captainship of a WAN vessel.

I do not claim innocent to the above charges but i do wish to see Clifdweller brought up on those.
I hope you will understand, for now i leave the WANII as a present, enjoy the museum inside.

Nemisis2 altered his post when Yales said so, he made no further mention of WANIV or even the WANII in that thread. Nemisis2 was told to start a spy ship thread and Nemisis2 had the right to name it for it was not suppose to be affiliated with the WAN battle fleet until high command deemed neccesary. As for the other post, he said stability is coming to SDC but he never said decloak anything as he didn't feel he had the authority to suggest such a STUPID action. Give it up, the admirals coming for YOU!

Clif wanted us to be a warship and when i upheld my orders to stay as a spy ship, he attacked.

The WANIV has suffered a minor engine explosion but contact with the nanoprobe president has been made, his name is odezy. The Lasershot is drifting now, the WANIV is a sitting duck untill the nanoprobes arrive via the ISS Streak. I have ordered a general guard and patrol mode. I have called the mechans, minions, and berserkers to guard the WANIV, crew member isis99 is missing though as well as my Number one, Predattack.

We do not believe he has been captured. If so, his entire crew has also been captured, and the Borg would never tolerate capture. They would have assimilated their captors by now.

It was a great battle and all 3 Squadrons are in tact and thankfuly there were no casualties.  I will give you my report first thing tommorow morning and so will space girlie as my second in command.  I am happy to say that the Building of one of the most advanced ships in W.A.N Fleet history is well under way!   After I was done designing it Dingo left for some state of the art, newly produced alloys and parts for USS Alantra.  She will be Magnificent! As Supreme Commander of the Interstellar Fleet I will be in that ship most of the time.  It will be the main Command ship.  I am anctious to work side by side with you Admiral just like the old days.

Are we sure that the Bozo's have Capt. Dingo?   I know he's been missing for awhile but what proff do we have that the Bozos have him?  This could be a trap.  Can we send the ISS Lazershot in cloaked?  We might need the back up fire power if this is a trap.

Don't worry, it's in sub-dimensional space near where the negotiations are taking place.
They cannot scan sub-dimensional space; should things go bad the Lasershot and fifty Berserker asteroid ship followed by three entire fleets of minion fighter/carriers will drop into realspace allowing for the WANII to retreat.

Do not forget Borg backup. Due to transwarp technology, we can bring in almost unlimited ships instantly, as needed.

So i doubt were going to get in too much trouble if they decide to fight.

Here are some ideas to handle the bozo threat. I would like to hear your thoughts about on this post and on this subject.

1:We need more info on the bozos. Like where they are based, there tactics, the capabilities in handling logic bombs, and the mechanics and politics of the many different groups. We should know what they are having for dinner before they do. There are may different ways to do this.
A:More skirmishes with the bozo fleets. This would have two effects, give our personnel field training, and give us a better grasp of the combat capabilities of there ships.
B:Recon flights into and around bozo space. These excursions would be done with small very fast fighters loaded with cameras, sensors, and of course a clocking device. By doing this we should have a better handle on the military infrastructure and where targets for future strikes might be.

2:Start hitting the freighters that move bozo cargo. If we deny them the right to move supplies they cant expand. As most transport is done behind enemy lines big ships like the WANIII can't carry out the hit and run attacks needed. To do this we would need long range nimble strike fighters.

3:The way that the enemy is able to remain strong is by assimilating. They don't seem to have much of an ability to generate fresh bozos. At areas of "bozo expansion" we should try to recruit the populus to our side and ensure that none join the bozos.

4:The formation of quick commando strike teams should be taken into consideration. With commandos at our disposal we would be able to hit pinpoint targets and remove prisoners.

5:There is currently nothing that we have in our fleet that is bigger than a WAN. If we wished to directly engage bozo capital ship fleets we would need battleships and heavy cruisers.

6:With the new gear to recon, quick strike, and commandos we will need new types of ships. Recon ships, quick strike fighters and commando boats should all be relatively long range, fast, and cloak able.

7:Logic bombs can be made better. Our most effective weapon can be enhanced by study of the bozo mentality.

8:Idealy we should have more personnel. New members should be sought out.
