I hope i'll be able to describe this, it was a long time ago and i'm not sure of the details.

More than a few years ago, i was looking northwest from my grandparents house in Calgary, Alberta.  It was at least a couple hours after dusk, and it was warm, i'm thinking possibly late summer, maybe fall.  When i saw something just above the horizon in the sky that i thought looked, well...different i wasn't sure what i saw.

It looked like some sort of explosion, but a very tame and controlled one.  I don't know if anyone remembers the old Star Wars vector graphics arcade game, but if you've seen it when someone succesfully blew up the death star then that expanding circle followed by expanding black is the best way i know how to describe it.  It was maybe as big as the moon is, and lasted only half a second before it was gone.

If that sounds like anything, e-mail me and let me know, i've never thought about it too much until recently.  Any ideas appreciated

Well even if I had precisely known what it is I will have a trouble e-mailing it to you.
