Did you know?

The Platypus is stranger than you think.

Platypuses have no nipples.  After the young hatch, the mother oozes milk from the pores all over her body.

The male platypus has a poison barb on the inside of its hind legs.  The purpose of this weapon is uncertain.

While often compared to the beaver, the platypus is only about 20 inches in length -- more comparable to the size of the muskrat.

The Platypus bill is actually just an elongated muzzle covered with much the same kind of tough skin found on a dog's nose.  This bill contains an electrically-sensitive organ that can detect the electrical signatures of the small aquatic animals it eats.

Dinner was great! We've gotta import some of the Borg technology to our food replicators! (Bow of respect to my host)

Commander, Admiral, unless you have orders for me, I will ask our host if there's a place I can rest up for an hour or two...

Yes, follow PLC to the crew areas.

*To... whoever*

Repairs on your ship are complete, we are now beginning the probe flush to destroy the spies.

Excellent job Aaron.  Now, can you give me a technical update on all of the changes that were made.  I have no clue what 1/2 of this new equipment does

Sunny follows PLC down to quarters and is given a nice simply furnished, comfortable space that suits her just fine. Goes into deep meditation...)

Dingo, the new systems will not interfere with normal operations of the vessel, it will be controled exactly as before, but we have enhanced power output and durability. Also, there are nanoprobe pods built in, so minor damage will be self-repairing.

Speaking of nanoprobes, the spy flush is going well. So far, 57 bugs have been located and destroyed.

Aaron, cool, let set up some damage control simulations on the computer, so I can practice directing the nano-bot pods.  Lets make it combat situation as well.  I figure leaving damage control on automatic during normal operations conditions.

What is our new operational range??  We use to be able to make 2000 lights years on a single load of fuel.  Do we have supra-light capibilitys???

Excellent weapons upgrade.  I lot more efficient, and longer range.  You have doubled our energy ranged weapons to 8.
I see you were unable to increase missile weapons launchers, but I love the way you have rebuilt missile storage capasity.  We can carry 12 missiles now, instead of 4.

Crew quarters are rather bleak, but very utarian.  The crew can decorate their rooms on their own.  Room for 20.

Ottawan is going to freak out when he see's what you did to his sickbay.  I am sure he has never had to work with Borg style regeneration units before..hehehehhe...I can just think of his reaction.

Aaron where are you heading to now????Are you interested in heading to the Milkyway, or are you going to continue on with your explorations???

Dingo, the nanoprobe pods are fully automatic. They deploy their supply of probes automatically upon detection of damage, and repair systems in order of their importance to the crew's lives. The most control you could influence over them would be to redirect repairs, for example, if you had some need to repair the replicators before life support, you could override them.

Yes, your range has been improved as well. The fuel tanks are more highly pressurized, in combination with a better combustion sequence, your range has tripled.

The new equipment in sickbay are modified maturation chambers, capable of healing almost any wound that is not instantly lethal.

The probe flush of your ship is complete. In all, 236 spies were found. All but one were destroyed, we have the last one in a stasis field for study. Your ship has been released from the repair mesh, and is ready to go.

Ok people, grab your gear, time to load up and head out.  We have a long way to go, and no idea how to get there.

Engineering and Weapons fully dogged and catted.  Were fully fueled, all weapon bays armed and ready.  The engines are fired up and in standby

I would suggest that you allow me to carry your vessel for a while. The spies know our current position, but we have cloaking systems that would prevent them from tracking our movements now that the spies are gone. We will then drop you off, and they will no longer be on your trail.

Aaron, we will gladly accept your offer.  It will give us time to fully familurize the Alpha1's modifications you made.  We will maintain standby mode, so that we are ready to go when you give the word and drop us off, before anyone spots you.

I would suggest you take off to another place after the lift, you have probibly been spotted giving us assistance, and that might make you a target.  Gorts might not be the brightest of creatures, but they have one track minds.

Our destination is the Insomnia Outpost 7, located about 700 light years through Gort territory.  Drop us off about 100 light years from it, and we will make a run for it.  Outpost 7 is ready to give us a lift just outside of the Milkyway Galaxy, and we will sneak through the defense barrier Nemisis and I set up before we started the Expedition to the Andromeda Galaxy.  We have been pouring over the data, and I think we have found a slight weakness that will let us sweak by

What information can you provide us on the Gort ships? Size, number, weapons, etc.? If we are to be a target, I'd like to be as prepared as possible.

Also... we would like to join you on your quest back to the Milky Way. We have no destination, we have simply been wandering around, looking for derelict ships to assimilate.

Aaron, Gort ships as follows:

Size:  Varied.  Range from small attack shuttles with crew of 10 to Large battleships.  crew size unknown, but estimated at 2500

Speed:  Fastbut low range.

Arms and Shields:  Very heavy in both catigories.  Tendancy to concentrate in anti-matter weapons...the durtier the better.

No signs of research facilities.  Our research has determined they have stolen technology from races conquered.

Communications:  Good coordination between ship groups.  Will not respond to hails from not Gort ships.  Few known allies
Saeons are about the only known ally of the Gorts.  Speculation was made that the Gorts are not a natural race but instead are the normal space slaves of the Saeons, either captured by the Saeons or made by them.

Gort ships never travel alone.  Their tactics, primative, but effective.  They attack with weapons then close and ram, then board.  No regards to own losses.  Will continue to attack until they have won or are wiped out.  Against bigger ships, they use the same tactics to slow their opponent until reinforcements have arrived and joined in the attack.

Best tactics against them is to shoot and skoot, not allow them to close.  Also when skooting, move in directions 90 degree's from the direction they attack, else they will drive you into other Gort ship groups.

You are most welcome to join us as we head back to the Milkyway Galaxy.  We are not sure of what we will find there.  From sketchy news from the IGBS and the IGNN, it looks like the WAN federation has collapsed and fractured into many groups
