This thread is for discussing the strike fighters that our fleet will soon build. Dingo has also sent me here for fighter training. I am ready for the simulator when ever it it is at the convenience of Mons and Spacegirlie. Pervious discussion can be found on page 9 of this thread and here also. The working plans can be found here.

I have reviewed the fighter plans, and approve them. You may commence construction and pilot training immediately. Since the Borg are reporting capsicum activity in the Bozo sectors, and have in fact lost a ship, the fighter wing may be seeing action as soon as they are constructed. I am thereby placing a Priority Alpha designation on construction and flight training, effective immediately.

Hey dingo how long do you think it will be till our first 2 are made? I'm guessing our two test pilots would like to take them out as soon as they can. Also what can I do to help put the bay back into working order?

The first 2 fighters will be ready for testing on Monday.  Well, the weapons bay will need to be rewired.  All equipment will need to be checked, and fixed to HQ specs.  The circus paint needs to be stripped and the whole bay needs to be repainted.  The kitchen is even in worse shape as it is filled with cotton candy residue

The first two phoenixes are compleat and ready for trials. Before we take them out on there first spin there are some safety issues. As Dingo said the wings are not strong enough to take high gee loads with the drop tanks on them. Also to save weight there are no ejection seats if an emergency aries you will have to blow the canopy and clime out. And finally a heads up the avionics i have sodered together from existing fighters and bombers, I think I have eliminated all the quirks but I'm not perfect.
I would like to be the flight engineer for the first phoenix so I can further iron out the bug if no one minds. The birds should be almost ready for combat and could in theory shadow a bozo war tent cloaked for some time.

Send out the first two in a joint shakedown mission with the Alantra; commence countdown as soon as possible.

Here is an update, we now have 3 fully capable Phoenixes with the other two almost ready. The wing is ready to head out as soon as our test pilots check in.

Scramble all fighters...scramble all fighters...Bozo war tent approching...disquised as ISS Alantra...sensors detect major defensive capibility....all test pilots report to your ships...ready or not you are needed for emergancy scramble.  All ships fully armed.  ISS Bozoblaster disengage from docks...I know you are not 100 %, but this is an emergancy scramble

BozoBlaster to WAN III, we are clear and ready to engage.  All defensive and offensive systems are on-line and at 100%.  We are in position to attack.  Awaiting final go code from Captain Skyjim and / or Admiral PLC.

We could take your fighters into our assimilation bays, and launch them later, in the midst of the battle. That would suprise the Bozo's in two ways, one, they would not be expecting to see your ships launched from ours, and, two, they would be suddenly facing a new group of, to them, unknown fighters (they do not know about their existance).

The beauty of these things is they don't have to be launched from a mother ship at close range. The fleet could drop them off before a battle and they could fly under there own power to the battle. By doing this they could completely fly around the main battle fleet of the enemy cloaked then come in behind the enemy.
