All department and ships.  Report current status, and repairs needed.  Seems like I am recovering from injuries substained, and need to get back to my well behind duties.  Time to get back to work.

Status report:  Weapons control.
It is apparent that our special weapons and shielding secrets have been discovered and duplicated by the opposition.  So Weapons research will need to be high priority.

With the WAN III having been docked, major repairs are needed to bring it back up to standards.  All engineering proposals and upgrades need to be forwarded to my department for upgrades. If the opposition has obtained our shielding, then they might discover a weakness,

Sensor improvements are recommended.  Our sensors still have yet to determain the new location of a whole displaced sector of space...Formally known as Bozoland.  We need to relocate that sector, and dimention.

The kitchen is a shambles, looks like someone did a major banquet and did not clean up after them.  Kitchen detail needs to report for extra duty.

How the heck cut a hole into the roof of the kitchen to my quarters,  That will need to be repaired.

ISS Bozoblaster needs to be returned to testing bay for upgrades and repairs.

New long range fighters will need to be developed, as well as replacing my commanders skit.

All access to those special funds have been cut off, and our fund reserve is depleated.  Ships Merchant, we are going to need lots of funds, and need your special talents to find us those items we will need.  Special scrounger access is granted.

Capt Labatt.  will complete your new ship shortly.  Scans show that if it were brought up to speed at this time, it would fall appart.  Seems to have been put together with very substandard materials as well as designed to hide those flaws, and it was designed that after falling apart, to remake itself into a circus tent.

There needs a tightening of security.  It is apparant that a Bozo agent was sucessful in penitrating our security.

Capt SkyJim, Admiral PLC.  what are your orders??

Dingo, I'm going to hold off on further direction other than getting the ship through initial quarantine clearance and  repairs.  I'm expecting a reassignment from fleet HQ.  My desire to spend some time in academic endeavor may result in new duties.

I have come up with a design for the strike fighters and have started writing the software to feed to the construction bots. The crew would consist of a pilot and a navigator/fight engineer with a habitable cockpit size of around 5 cubic meters. I think I have solved the range problem by replacing the standard fuel cells with a small fusion reactor and using 2 small but efficient grav-flux engines. The fighters would be larger than our standard fleet defense fighters. These strike fighters would be armed with twin rito launchers and twin pulse canons or sensors and cameras. The fighters would be equipped with a state of the art cloaking device, however due to its energy consumption weapons could not be charged and fired when it is on. A new prototype of phase shielding could be used to protect the crafts. Due to the size of these craft they would be less maneuverable than the bozo ships but they should be much faster and have more firepower with a range of 66 ly. I estimate the cost to be around 85 million credits each and suggest that we start off with one wing of five. With the admiral's permission I would like to name these birds Mk.1 Phoenix Strike Fighters.

Ships merchant....seeing the specs of the new fighter proposed.  What engines are available on our current budget, or will the proposed engines be easily obtained.

Due to current report that the Bozo ships are upgrading to "Rito" proff shielding, we would need to find a different primary weapon.  Meteoroid, I will pass the design of the new fighter to HQ.  What modifications would you recommend for additional of different weapons configurations, and or cost reduction??

Capt SkyJim...Noted your pending transfer to HQ.  The skuttle-butt has it that you are going to be offered ambassordorship, or transfer to Fleet Acadamy for position of instructor.

Dingo the Fleet is standing by as it seems the Bozo threat are moving away fairly quickly after a stand off and seeing the W.A.N Fleet.  Many ships need repairs and need to be fueled up.  There is a question to whether Nemisis was promoted to the Rank of Admiral.  It seems that Venusdaystar has stated many times that nemisis is Promoted.  Nemisis asked me to ask you Admiral PLC if that was true?

For the fighters I hope to use mainly off the shelf parts from bigger corvette class ships like the fuel supply and engines. That stuff can be made smaller later. The weapons could be mounted in internal pods for easy removal and replacement. As for a new main weapon for now it looks as if we are stuck with some type of particle or energy beam system. We could just equip the first ones with 4 pulse canons or conventional missiles.

Meteouroid....Corvette engines are to big for the ships specified.  Fuel cells are too big, we would have to mount them as external drop tanks.  Which for extended patrols would be a good idea.

Suggest we modify existing bombers with long range capibilties.  That would cause us to cut the crew from 3 to 2.

Ship Merchant Nerd, on your next stop to your main supplier.  Pick up 4 stripped down bombers.  We will modify them ourselves.  Also pick up Mark 9 micro fusion units.  The ones we use for the Super Rito's  Quantity of 8. Also pick up 8 "rito powered fuel cells"  We will figure something out.
Meteoroid, report down to weapons bay.  Contact Spacegirlie and Mons for fighter trainng.  Tell them to set you up on the simulator, and throw the works at you.  This will give you the initial insite into fighter requirement basics.  You will need to design the changeable weapons pods.
Mons, Spacegirlie, make sure your flight insurance is current.  We will have some new fighters for testing.

Roger that, Borg Collective. Unfortunately, after our last skirmish, we have no ships to spare yet to send after them. Please, continue tracking/notification. You are currently our best intelligence on the Bozo movements. As soon as we can, we will send out cloaked vessels to trace the ships.

Dingy, good to have you back. Since we're docked, perhaps we can have dinner tonight?

Mons, Dingo, how about a collimated jet of pure capsicum, for a weapons upgrade?

Haven't seen the paperwork come thru on Nem's promotion; wouldn't be surprised to see it any day though.

This is the Captain.

I'm pleased to announce that scans are complete and we have all received a clean bill of bozobot health.  The quarantine is lifted as of now!

Secure the bridge maneuvering watch.

Special space details may stand down.

Transfer OOD station to the main gangway entrance!

Transfer tunnels are being connected by the yard staff.  Shore leave commences immediately for first and third watches.  Second and fourth watches will follow tomorrow.

To all hands - Well done!

That is all. Captain out.

Admiral, is there a guardian rank?
A person who spots out fresh sector and sets up outpost to guard the sectors from bozo recruitment tactics?
If so, i'd like to put in a request for promotion to Guardian and the WAN IV and all ship belonging to me and it be considered reserved for Guardian actions like negotiations, defences of sectors and scouting for new areas.

Dingo, heres an idea for a fighter based on the minion stream laser fighter.
The fighter has two wings, the wings extend/retract into the side of the fighter to decrease te room taken, it would have a single fusion reactor.
It's equipped with to non-pulse lasers which work like a cutting laser intented to be flown down the side of the hull of a ship to cut long holes in the side of the hull, it has a secondary single missile tube which holds one ship-to-ship plasma missile and one ship-to-ship anti-matter torpedo.
It's crew is one pilot as these ships aren't that big.
I can retro-fit several wings of my fighters to allow personel inside as mine are run by computer, but i price them at 78 million credits not counting personel traing and missile costs.

In the region of space we mentioned before, we have lost a ship. A Borg sphere was traveling in a transwarp conduit when it detected a disturbance in the conduit. They left the conduit to avoid problems, and promptly were destroyed. We believe that they collided with a Bozo vessel. Long-range scans show trace signitures of capsian.

I was bored in study hall so I wrote drew this. This is what I think the strike fighters would look like. Instead of 2 engines I went with 4 for the added speed.
Here is the link:
1: Weapon pods
2: Drop tanks
3: Engine Housing
4: Cockpit/Cabin
5: sensor array
If needed I could easily do a cut away drawing to show how everything fits together. The weapons would be mounted in pods (like a removable hard drive). The pods would then simply be dropped into the weapon bay. Nem's lasers would be a good idea but I am afraid that they would take too much energy. I'm going to make a thread in the weapons bay for further discussion of this. I don't want to clutter this thread.

Admiral, i present a proposal for a sub group to be created with the sole purpose of defending new territory, scouting out suspected bozo influenced areas and gathering recruits. I propose that this group be called either the WAN-Guardians or the WAN-Sentinels and i being the founder and the operator of it.
I also propose that the WAN IV become the flagship of the group if you accept this proposal and all ships of mine become it's force. My current crew can be the members and if anyone wants to join.

Do you decide yes or no, or do we have a vote?
