For clarity, MARSIS is the ground-penetrating radar on Mars Express. The most interesting experiment onboard IMO.

Hum that is ashame, i really wanted to know if anyone was going to win the competition with the shrimp in it. Sounds almost wacky, spring loaded glass-fibre radio antennae  rods

How big would an ocean need to be to support a ecosystem with complex life, maybe we'll discover that theres a massive ocean, one things for certain, if there is a life supporting ocean then the life on mars would be nothing like that of the surface life we see on earth, Any complex life would have no use for eyes, in fact I'd find it a miracle if eyes had even been on the evolutionary drawing board. hum any thoughts ?!?

Marsis looks set to miss a deployment window over the summer as a result of the review. It will then have to wait until the end of a Mars solar conjunction, which lasts from 31 August to 1 October.

The European Space Agency has given the green light for the MARSIS radar on board its Mars Express spacecraft to be deployed during the first week of May. Assuming that this operation is successful, the radar will finally start the search for subsurface water reservoirs and studies of the Martian ionosphere.
