Does moon affect the weather conditions ? If yes, how? If no, why people tend to relate weather conditions with the current phase of the moon ?

There appears to be no significant effects except for a minor cyclical change of about a third of 1 percent of a degree celcius in the upper atmosphere.

So, as an amateur , I ask :

Why this?: http://www.predictweather.com/articles.asp?ID=16

"Each Moon phase has a changing effect on the weather, whether it be droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes or lightning. And as the atmosphere has its daily tide, the air density too is forever changing. If it did not, barometric pressures would always remain constant. The volume of air changes just as does the volume of sea water in a bay during high SEA tide, but we can see that. We can't see a high AIR tide because we haven't yet invented an instrument to detect it. Yet by deduction we can conclude that it must occur. To put it another way, it would be very odd if the Moon chose to move the sea around but decided against moving the massive sea of air."
It seems reasonable to me...

I had purposely avoided pointing out the site. It is apparently a crank site into some real zany stuff, and it is completely F.O.S.

Yale is correct in saying that the site is a crank site, which is unfortunately full of bull crap. You have yet to learn how to sift fact from fiction on the 'net, which is unfortunately polluted with crap. It is called critical thinking, which is a VERY important skill to know and have.  Q

Gcks,
No problem, man. :) I realize you are a beginner in astronomy with lots of questions, but we are here to help steer you in the right direction, and avoid lots of crap. I don't know if you have seen this web site, it is Phil Plait's site, called Bad Astronomy, which clears up alot of mis-conceptions, and is great for beginners.
Here's the link, www.badastronomy.com. Good luck, dude. Q
