All right, Dingo, prepare for an extremely rapid sensor sweep. We're going in at full drive, and then I'm gonna hit the little red button, which will increase our speed by three orders of magnitude.

Sunny to Alpha-1

Sorry, cannot give you any better fix on my position. Must be some kind of Bozo hangover or something. Am setting my comm device for a continual transmission to help you.

sunny out.

*hits series of buttons on console*

Beginning high speed maneuver...now.

*hits another series of buttons*
*Alpha-1 begins to accelerate to maximum speed and hold*

Hitting little red button...NOW!

*hits little red button*
*sudden high acceleration*
*falls off perch*
*grins*

*After a few moments at the ultra high speed...Alarms start going off all around the engine-room.  Dingo straining againt the acelleration, checks the alarm bank, and he strains and hits the emergancy cut-off.  The crew is thrown forward at the sudden cut-off of speed*

Admiral, we have cracking in the containment field, engines shutdown, we are drifting at speed towards the Battle moon.  I can give you forward beam weapons, and forward shields.  We can change our orientation, but manuveering is out.

(Overheard as Dingo forgets to shut off the comm)#ITSY, I need you to spin crystaline webs and start restringing control lines for the containment fields, the old ones have cracked and failed.  Engineering crew break out the spare focasing lenses, the mains have shattered.  Medic start giving everyone anti-radiation shots, double max doses.  Shuttling all remaining power to shields and forward weapons, inset those taps into the core, get that power drained now.  You 3 on those cranks, get those radiators deployed now, it is 200C in here and only going to get hotter......the comm skreeches then cuts out.#

*All emergancy doors around the ship have snapped down and locked*

...flattened backwards into command seat, cheeks flapping somewhere around back of head.  Then, suddenly thrown forwards against straps...

*Whatinthehellwasthat!*

"I'm detecting a big increase in neutron emissions from your engine room.  Are the engines out?  My shields are protecting me."

*Checking controls*

"If so, mebbe I can provide you with some manuevering thrust.  I'm tacked against the rear hull, but *my* engines are still functional.  Please advise."

**** with lots of static ****

Admiral, we need to set this baby down...energy feedback is off the scale...need to dump lots of energy in the mean time...  Recommend somehow adjust or trajectory directly at the battlemoon, maximize the front shield, remove the restirctors on the forward beam weapons, and let the beams blast the moon creating a debree cloud that we go through to slow us down.  We will have to land there, no other place, unless you can spot a planetoid that we can semi control crash into by the same method.

Have determined the cause...accelerated too fast and pushed the engine core into the containment field. Needs to be recalibrated to the new speed after repairs...

Yev, I copy. Coordinate with Dingo as we maneuver towards the battle moon.

Dingo, make it so.

**** very very staticly ****
Yev, it's up to you, at full power of your craft, you might be able to nudge us into a new course, it's going to take a lot of flip flopping around to adjust us, we have no controls.  Be warned, as soon as the Bozo's see what we are up to, they will be shooting at us, and you are going to have to provide counter missile defense.  Be warned, do not get near the front of the Alpha, the bleed off of unrestricted beam weapons bouncing off of our shield as we run into them, would make things "interesting".  Also try and warn Sunny what is coming at her, she might want to put as much Battlemoon between us and her.

Admiral, I have notified Yev, I hope, difficult to tell if the signal got through to him.  You will have to have K pop the resistors, and fire at will.  This is going to be a rough ride.  Also need you to Skreeeeeeeeechhhhhh

"...at Full Power SKRRREECCCCHHHHHH"

*Damn.  Lost the signal.  Gonna have to make a very good guess what he said.*

*Bringing engines on line.  Fusion bottle containment holding...and....*

*Increasing thrust to the Port engine...higher...higher...everything rattling like bb's in a tin can...*

*Very weak signal from engineering*  Yevaud, my readings on damage assessment are off the scale..whats going on out there.  Also, down to 40% effective engineering crew, and those surviving are suffering heavy radiation exposure.  Not sure if they will survive much longer*

*Skreeeee*

"Dingo, I'm trying to pick off three waves of incoming missiles with my onboard defensive suite.  The magnetic clamps aren't holding well, either...my ship's moving around on the hull as I fire my thrusters to give you guys some attitude control."

*Firing another salvo*

"Whoever/whatever this is, it's got a lot of missiles, I'll tell you!"

*Firing another salvo*

"Kind of busy here...I'll get back to you.  Assuming I'm not ionized gas.  It's getting a bit 'hot' out here.  Yevaud out."
