I think it was more like being a black hole, or in 'dark matter space'.  We need to work on Alpha's nav system to keep avoiding those places.

In a way this is true, the old Alpha 1 was sent on an extended mapping of all dark matter nebula, unmanned, and contact has been lost, so it's sistership the Alpha II is coming out of mothballs (literally).  It will need a bit of airing out, and we will need to find crew.

Since it was built a long time ago, I never got back to it to keep it's tech up todate, being budget cutbacks you know, so it's main BH drive has evaporated.  The backup energy generator will need to be fueled, so I am stocking up the kitchen to make our famous fuel and weapons source "Rito's".  Hope our new crew is hungry

Well, I think we'll have to spend some time rounding up the old crew.

I haven't seen them around Pete's or the Crushed Velvet Lounge.  I think there may be some transdimensional situations involved.

I guess we'll just have to check out every bar between here and Orion's Belt, and then work out from there.
