Geese

I have notice the geese are returning north, this is very early. Normally we see, a few very small flocks first, and by the start of April the large ones show up.
But these are the really large flocks, and they are overnighting in really odd places. Like the bank parking lot.{I suspect its warm there}
We also have a few year 'round Robins these past few winters. I made sure to keep suet and water for them. But now I wonder if thats a good thing for me to do. Will they forget how to fly south and fail to teach their babies how to?

Studies of geese have shown that they migrate mainly due to the availability of food. In areas where geese are fed up here in Canada, they never leave.
So, their return north earlier would suggest that either their food supply in the south has ended earlier, or that warmer temperatures are making food available further north sooner.

I've been to Jack Minors, where so many geese stop over. What a sight to see.
And I had forgotten about Supergoose! Thanks for the link.
